From William Billings and Woody Guthrie to John Denver, America has a rich history in music. National Carry a Tune Week is created by music preservationist Roger Hall to carry on the tradition of American music into the next generation. Use this week to sing some of your favorites and learn about the people who created our musical heritage—held annually during the week of songwriter William Billings' birthday, October 7, 1746. Billings was the first American choral composer.
